I had an unforgettable weekend at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Festival on the stunning Gold Coast, Queensland, celebrating the best of Australia’s film and television industry alongside AFTRS delegates.

Friday night was truly surreal. Attending the AACTA Awards in person, I found myself in the same room as some of the biggest names in the Australian screen industry. Hosted by the legendary actor and AACTA president Russell Crowe, the night was a constant thrill, with some of my favourite actors gracing the stage.

Saturday was all about inspiring the next generation. I had the privilege of speaking on AFTRS’ panel, “Breaking into the Screen Industry,” alongside of industry professionals and AFTRS representatives. The session was dedicated to film students, career changers, and emerging creatives looking to take their first steps toward building a sustainable and fulfilling career in the screen industry.

It was also great fun meeting a couple of peers from my MASB program.
