After two intense and deeply reflective years, my journey through the Master of Arts Screen: Business (MASB) at AFTRS has come to an end.

My final capstone project, (Re)Imagine Everyday: A Decolonised Cross-Cultural Filmmaking Framework, became an opportunity to rethink not only storytelling, but also the way we create films together.

Drawing from my background in documentary filmmaking and my interest in memory, identity, and everyday life, the research explored a business model and production that centered more around reflective, collaborative, and culturally grounded approaches to storytelling — particularly through co-creation and collective artistic practice.

The journey also gave shape to what is slowly evolving into the All Voices Films creative practice: a space for conversation, experimentation, and storytelling that embraces cross-cultural perspectives and emerging voices.

Rather than searching for fixed answers, the research opened up new questions around authorship, collaboration, artistic process, and alternative ways of making films beyond conventional structures.

More than anything, the experience reminded me that filmmaking can also be a space for reflection, curiosity, and connection — both with others and with ourselves.

More than a degree, MASB became a space for creative dialogue, reflection, and community. Deeply grateful for the people, conversations, and shared curiosity that shaped this journey.

I have always been a learner at heart – this two years was a gentle reminder that it’s never too late to begin again, rethink old ideas, and remain open to learning, reflection, and creative possibility. What’s next!? I dont know 🙂
