Indrani Kopal, an award-winning documentary director, editor, and former Fulbright scholar brings over 15 years of global filmmaking experience, focusing on social issues and underrepresented communities. In 2010, she was selected for an International Emerging Filmmakers Fellowship at George Washington University and mentored by Emmy Award-winning documentarian Nina Gilden Seavey. Indrani holds an MFA in Documentary Production and Studies from Hofstra University, New York. Her documentary films include The Game Changer (Cannes Short Film Corner 2015), Incarcerated Rhythm (Harlem Film Festival 2018), Teacher, the Tradition Bearer (2017), Before the Trees Was Strange (Editor, Bahamas Film Festival 2016), Inclusion Equal to Love (2016), and She’s My Son (Freedom Film Festival 2007). Indrani’s television credits include Antha Naal, a 13-episode historical documentary series for ASTRO, a Malaysian satellite broadcast channel aired in 2022. Beyond filmmaking, Indrani enjoys mentoring future talents, with teaching roles at AFTRS, SAE Creative Media Institute, and as a former Senior Lecturer at Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
